Ferndale Pharmaceuticals LMX4 Lidocaine 4% W/W Cream is a local anaesthetic for topical use. The product is an off-white cream supplied in an aluminium tube, containing 5 grams. Topical Anesthetic Cream contains 4% Lidocaine and can be used to relieve pain caused by minor cuts, minor burns, abrasions, sunburn, insect bites, treat rectal discomfort caused by hemorrhoids and gential itch. Lidocaine can also be used to produce surface anaesthesia on the skin prior to: venous cannulation or venipuncture, and administration of painful topical treatments on larger surface areas of intact skin where use of a topical anaesthetic is appropriate.
